Kanban Terminal
Introduction
Xedion AG has a new product in the family of c-part optimization solutions, which is called Standalone. The following information will describe the intended functionality in general.
Description of Function
The equipment is mounted on the wall so that a worker can hold an empty bin in front of it without any problems. The equipment must be provided with power and a network connection.
If an employee wants to re-order an empty bin, they will approach the equipment, hold the bin in front of the scanning area for a brief moment and then wait for the successful entry response from Standalone. At the same time, the data will be transferred to the Xedion server. Doing this completes the process.
Internal Process
Once the toggle switch has been used, the equipment must start up by itself and perform a functional check of the acoustic and visual units. All LEDs and buzzer will be turned on for 2 seconds and then turned off.
Continuous Cycle
The scanner will continuously scan the connected antennas.
If a bin has been recorded and the ID correctly scanned (several scanning cycles), the buzzer will be turned on for a period of time that can be set. In addition, the green LED will turn on until the transfer to the server has been completed. Afterwards, the equipment will return to the initial state.
If sending the scanned ID is not possible, several transfer attempts must be made and the red LED will be activated after the fifth failed attempt to transfer the data.
This state should continue for a period of time that can be set before the equipment will return to normal operation and scan a new bin.
